Here are 2 different air filter housings - Knecht on left with original decal; Hengst? on right.

Can anyone say if both types were used on R69S?

I thought Vech might sell the screw that holds the air filter housing on, but I didn't see it. Mark Huggett in Switzerland sells one...13720043167...71 Swiss francs.

I did, however, see that he sells the air filter waterproof sticker:

"13 72 1 250 314L--label waterproof R69S air filter housing correct numbers Bench Mark Works LLC USA exclusive".

Pretty cheap, too...

Vech offers a vinyl copy of the "Hfilter" decal. It is not a water transfer as the OEM decal. Also, no one sells the "km" decal at all. It's why I'am spending the time to have the decals reproduced as original for my 1966 R69S, and for any members if interested.
As for cost..., their priceless!

I didn't know the difference...I've never seen an actual label either on a bike or in a vintage restoration book. So, I don't know if I really need or want one... :(

Kurt,
Let's make it understood, I have no vested interest in this project other than doing it correctly. The original water slide decals are a ware item. After decades of use they will fade away. I wanted to replace them as OE. They will be as original from the factory. The cost will be determined by the vender and that is who the membership will deal with, not me.
Do your research regarding your bike's stock air filter label(s). If you had them, now you have the option to obtain them or not.

I understand what you're doing...sounds like they will be a good addition. I haven't asked to have sets made for me until you determine what the costs are, etc. And I don't know if my bike ever had them. I'm 4th owner. As I said, I've not seen any pictures of what they might look like on the bike. Plus, I doubt I'd ever know if my '69 R69S ever had them. Unless they always had them from the factory. My bike was purchased by a US soldier and then was shipped to the US. That's about all I know of its past.

Thanks...Kurt in S.A.

Kurt,
Your R69S had both decals as seen in Roland Slabon's, "How To Restore Your BMW Motorcycle", page, 91 and back cover. Your air filter housing, as shown above, was painted silver, not chromed.
I expect the cost of the water release decals to be reasonable. I'll post the price when I hear from the graphic fabricator.

I got this photo from a recent ebay auction - these are the decals in question:

Rather than the Knecht type:
