I've heard good comments about Shail's BMW in Vancouver, BC, Canada:

http://shailsmotorcycles.com/

The website says they specialize in older BMWs and one of the bikes in the graphics is an R69S. Darryl might know of good sources in NorCal.

Kevin Brooks is probably your guy. Brent Hansen in San Anselmo, CA, is a past mechanic at Ozzie's BMW in Chico and is specializing in rebuilding cranks. I think both are listed over in the web links section of the main web site (click on the club logo above to go there).

Well, it looks like it's time, at last, to have the motor, trans and final drive gone through by one of the "real" experts located somewhere in the Northwest, or at least in the West....

I have a couple names, Kevin Brooks in Olympia,WA and Paul Prokop in Protland, OR. However, if anyone has additional suggestions/testimonials, I would really appreciate it. The time draws near....

thanks,
fred t.
