With these bags you can leave

With these bags you can leave them in the stock position and they clear just fine. I did not have to cut the levers or turn them around. You can also adjust the shocks with the bags in place. So far so good.

Ah, but they do not have the original type texture and finish...

There's also the question of construction

Post by miller6997 »

It's just a matter of taste, but I prefer the more finished look of the new ones.

The early Enduros were rather flimsy, not very robust, especially the lids. I've heard that the Blue Moon Scooter versions are stronger and actually better made. Maybe someone who has installed the new ones can comment on this aspect.

I have had my lids "blow off",one side 2 times, the other once because I forgot to latch them, and they wioll blow off once you pass 30 mph (if they are not latched down) and they chip on the corners, but otherwise survived unscathed. They are well made and robust for sure!

...Nice...

I like the way your saddlebags echo the look of your motor scooters. If you want to continue that theme, look into Heinrich lower fairings; these somewhat resemble the "shield" on the front of the scooters?

Reproduction bags will always

Post by Rubone »

Reproduction bags will always look like what they are. Facsimiles of the real thing. They may work way better, and be cheaper, and be shiny. But they are never the real deal. Like a boob job or facelift.

Vanilla and chocolate

I have little fondness for period correctness if the originals weren't particularly well made. It's all aftermarket, so why not opt for sturdiness and better function?
