have 2 VDO speedos from BMW / 2 motorcycles they both have 1.2 stamped on the underside... One has the little blue ( I assume shift marks) at 31 mph, the next at 48 and the third at 58... The other has them at 38 mph, 60 and 86 . Is the first from an R60 and the second from an R 69 S ?? Any help appreciated...
Those are the mph corresponding to the maximum rpms for each gear, to avoid over-revving the engine, and not to be used for every shift.
The R60 can do 5800 rpm while the R69S can do 7000 rpm.
