Sidecar Value?

Without seeing it, I'd guess around there, up to $1800.
I would also ask that question at www.sidecar.com

It could help if you posted photos of it.

Sidecar Value?

Hi Sixone,
I suspect that your sidecar is probably actually a Velorex, and you might do better if you sell it as such.
I don't know about in the States but over here, apart from Steibs, sidecars don't fetch a lot unless really nice, best idea is as Jeff said post some pics.
Good Luck!

... I have a Jawa sidecar that is in extremely nice condition... Does anyone know what it is worth? I bought it with the bike, and I have $1,300 in it...
A new Jawa Velorex 562 costs about $2,600 but as I recall it will not bolt up to a /2 and requires generic frame clamps. See Side Strider at http://sidestrider.com/velorexpics.htm or the Wark Shop at http://www.warkshop.com/sidecars.htm.

The vintage Jawa Velorex 560 does fit the /2 and a perfect 560 should be worth more than a new 562.

Sidecar Value?

Thanks for all of the replies. I'll take a few pictures an post them later this week.

I'll also go to sidecar.com, as that may be a good place to sell it. It was attached to my /2 and has all of the mounting hardware. The only issue with it is the wheel needs to be rechromed.

Thanks again!

Brant

But how was it attached? Did it attach to the original mounting points leaving the frame un-marked, or did it use clamps?

Hi Allan,

It attaches to the original mounting points with 3 adjustible cylinders. It appears like it is the correct setup for the bike. I will try to locate some pictures and share them with the group.

I finally located the pictures of the sidecar before I removed it from the bike.

Can someone help me with the best way to make the pictures available?

Thanks,

Join one of the web photo hosting sites like Flickr or Photobucket. They are free if you don't have a ton of photos. Upload your photos there so each one has a link, then copy and paste the link into a message here.

Here are pictures of the way the sidecar mounts to the bike frame. I now wish I would have taken better pictures before removing the sidecar from the bike.
