Vech in MS offers several sidestands on his site at

http://members.aol.com/vechbmw2/partno.html

One has a photo but it's for R51/2 - R68. He offers several for the R69S with part numbers 46 53 9 024 012.

I've heard people discuss the Flanders stand, the Brown, the Farley Brothers.

You might call Vech and discuss it with him, especially the situation with the mounting point as well as the deeper oil pan.

thanks for the info I will most likely call bench mark when I scrape together the cash to convert my steering to tapered bearings and friction dampener hopefully before spring riding season starts here in utah, or behind the zion curtain as I have heard some call it lately. LoL

I've used the spacer-substitue spring loaded stand and the flander's stand and the flander's style stand is the only way to go imho. The spacer type tended to warp under kick starting, was a pita to extend and always had me worried about the bike's stability. The flander's type is great for sub-optimum parking conditions and is the primary reason I'm using the /2 much more these days for around-town jaunts.

I am looking for a side stand for my 67 R69S I need a little help as the descriptions I have found are somewhat vague and confusing, My frame is mfg'd for a sidecar and has a bracket welded on the lower left front area for a side stand it has a threaded hole and a v shaped channel, the oil pan cover has the spring mounting tab and an after market 1 inch or so, adapter for increased oil capacity. Anyone have a part number or a picture I can reference in order to find the right stand?
