Deep Oil Pan

I'm not that familiar with the deep oil pan, but... If you're replacing the original R69S pan than you know what kind of arrangement was used for the stock set up. Could you fashion a piece of metal (steel or alum depending on the pan) that you insert under the head of one of the pan bolts and it would be bent at some angle, etc., so that it would stick down and have a hole for the spring of the side stand to attach to?

Yes, that's apparently the answer.

I spoke with John at Blue Moon this morning and he advised me that some late model R69S's (mine's a 1969), had the sidestand spring loop attached to the stock pan. Apparently, for other years, the side stand hooks to the frame, not the pan.

Thus, I'll have to make something of steel, that uses the pan's bolt holes, for the spring to attach to.

Just ordered the deep oil pan for the R69S from Blue Moon Cycle. It's a nice piece.

However, I noticed that there is no tab for the spring of the side stand. This seems rather odd. Has anyone found a solution to this as I'd like to retain the side stand.
