Max run out on end of crank/rotor?

Post by skyler.robbins »

Hey Gang,
Where can I find the maximum runout tolerances for the end of the crank nose and the end of the mag rotor?
Thanks!

That info is in the workshop manuals in the library on our site. For the /2 models the link is workshop manual

Thanks James!
That’s exactly what I was looking for.
It looks like max allowable out of round on camshaft nose is 0.02mm ( .0008”)
And max allowable on on magneto cone is the same.

Cheers!

In theory! 0.02 mm is a nice goal for a crankshaft renovation, but don't fret if it is a bit more on your crank.

The camshaft cone should be quite precise though. If the shaft for the points cam on the end of the magnet is also that precise, I wonder? Haven't measured mine, but it is all a bit of a wobbly affair.
