R51/3 carburetors

The Barrington manual shows their were 2 versions of the 22mm bore T-117 carbs and 2 later replacement versions with a 24mm bore T-120 carbs the latest # 1/24/159-160 with #3 needle clip position (top hole #1), and initial idle mix setting 2 turns out, main jet #105, idle jet #35

Their was no reducer
The carb flange gasket on Salis site shows the same part # for R51/3 - R60/2 (not R68-R69s)
Also shows same part # for R51/3 - R60/2 Heads (not R68-R69s)

Thanks Tommy.
Well, I already hurried and asked Jan from Salis BMW and this is his interesting answer:

Hello Michael,
I understand what you are saying and theoretically you are right, but you are looking for a problem that was never considered a problem by BMW.
- the cylinder heads for a R51/3 and R67, R67/2 and R67/3 are identical (they have the same BMW part number, see below table)
- the flange gasket is the same for the 500 cc and 600 cc models
- the carburetors are indeed 22 mm for the 500 cc and 24 mm for the 600 cc.
So the conclusion is that BMW used 2 different carburetors on the same cylinder head and used the same flange gasket.
So there is no BMW part number for the adapter / special flange gasket (phenolic resin impregnated paper) you are looking for, because BMW did not see a need for it.
Kind regards,
Jan
