I've got a spare coil off a 50/2 in west London, if you want to try.

You say you replaced the capacitor. These new things are of totally crap quality. Did you try a second or even a third one?

Check with another coil, change condenser.

Need to check point gaps between two complete cycles.

Few months ago I was having problems with differential timing, after changing almost all parts (from my other running bikes), installed a used Bosch points set and works great without any single issue.

After a better check, found that plastic bushing where body pivots against main shaft has oval shape, so one point keeps point gap and other closes complete, causing differential timing issues..

There are a lot of bad quality parts on market, so take care..

What about having the rotor re-magnetized

I am going through exactly the same thing now with my R 68. I will be debugging over the next few weeks and I will update this thread with what I find. For what its worth, the Magneto was re-magnetized when it was restored 400+ miles ago and it has all new components. I will update more as I find out more.

On my R69S the Noris points were sometimes touching a metal part causing intermittent spark.
