Correct 90 SAE oil for rear drive - R51/3 ?

Post by Micha »

The manual states 90 grade, but I would like to know what API type should I purchase.
As far as I can remember, it is GL-5 but I might be wrong here.
Thanks in advance.

GL5 is very agressive and there is an important bronce shim in there. I wouldn’t use that. It also doesn’t need it. GL3 is just fine an totally safe.

If you're concerned about the yellow metal in the drive, GL4 would be OK as well.

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.
