1963 Transmission on a 1968 R60/2?

Post by brettironbutt »

Hello!
I am currently bidding on this transmission on eBay. 1963 OEM. I would like to rebuild one for the experience. Would it also fit on my R60/2 1968 US edition? The air intake ports seem different.... but I would like to have it as a spare. My current has never been rebuilt.

Thanks for any advice... 7 hours to go on the bidding!

Other than sidecar geared units, slash 2 transmissions are all the same from 1955 through 1969.
Good luck.

The later transmissions delete the key in the output shaft and go with a different tape, but otherwise either will work.
