I just got done restoring my 65 R50 and found out my title is not valid…for a number of reasons. Can anyone give me any info on how I can get a new title??

If you don't have a valid title, you can go to your insurance company and get a title bond. (which you have to pay for)
With that title bond in hand you can them apply for a new title. The law varies from state to state see what your state says about title bonds.

unfortunately……I live in Florida…..and that doesn't work. I've been in MV 4 times this week. I have to start from scratch. Not sure where to begin. The people at MV are NO HELP!

Register it in Vermont and ride it! Give it a year or so and then register it in Florida because the Vermont registration is your title.

I agree with the Vermont registration. I've used it twice and it works great. It only took a couple weeks to get the registration and it transferred into a Virginia title with no issues.

You do not need to be a resident of Vermont.

A while ago Vermont figured out that a lot of states use motor vehicle titles simply as a revenue source, and decided to capitalize on it.
Many folks here in surrounding New England states utilize them for solving title issues with their home state by first getting a VT title, others go ahead and register the vehicle in VT to avoid high local property tax.
Here in CT, for vehicles registered as classic or antique, their tax value is capped at $500, so not a real issue, but the title thing is still helpful.
