Complete bolt kit

Post by Starklint »

Hi,

I'm looking for a complete bolt kit for my 1959 R69 and I'm only able to find stainless steel ones. I recall something about it originally being cad plated bolts - is that correct? And if so, are they available somewhere? :)

Hi
When I restored my 1961 R69S . I bought a complete kit from the Bolt Guy . They are only Stainless . Very happy with the quality and the service .If you intend to go the cad plated route perhaps get the original bolts cad plated or keep an eye out on E Bay for somebody selling the original bolts . Regards

Sorry to say, the original bolt market has all but dried up. A few short years ago, you could find them in grab bags on eBay regularly. No more. If you are relatively new to this, you’ll need to dig and research what you need and search high and low for it. BTW, your ‘59 had more black phosphate than cad. More research to do

Hello
I've bought a number of kits from the parts.u.need guy on eBay in Turkey. if you search that name you can email him directly. I recommend contacting him directly and he can alter the kit to suit your needs more specifically. A couple of times I needed extra help and he was always forthcoming.
