Post by R6021968 »

Wondering if there is a list of bearings, seals and gaskets needed for slinger cleaning motor rebuild on R60/2.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is in the back of the Barrington manual.

Buy all new engine bearings. 😄

Thanks James, there seems to be two options for the crankcase front and rear bearings. Is the brass cage bearing much better than the steal cage? I have found the brass bearing at either $72 or $173 seems to be a large difference in price. The $72 bearing is listed as a FAG are they the same bearing?

Early engines, like the R51/3 and early R50 - R60 engines came from the factory with brass pin caged bearings. Later, they went to the steel caged ball bearings.

The only difference in the two bearings is that the brass cage bearing is rated at a higher RPM.
This RPM is much higher than the engine can ever reach. And supposedly, it will run quieter, but I cannot hear or confirm any difference.
There is nothing wrong with using the steel cage 6207. It will work fine. and it is cheaper
