R27 neoprene wheel bearing seals

Post by rudolphf »

I'm trying to find modern neoprene seals to replace the felt ones on my 1965 R27 wheel bearing stack. Anyone know where I can get them?

The old Bench Mark Works site lists this wheel seal...not sure if it's what you're talking about:

36314038155.1 substitute lip seal for inner wheel 038155 felt ring and 038157 cap R26R27

Bench Mark Works stock was taken over by Max BMW. I'd start there.

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.

I took direction from the Barrington manual and sourced some 20 x 30 x 4 double lip seals from a local supplier…fit very well. You can find several suppliers online as well.

I think you need different retainers to fit the modern seals, at least you do on the twins.
