1965 R69S handle bar switch controls

Post by germancarguy »

The chrome switch parts on both the right and left hand handle assembly's are pretty beat up and look like they belong on a kids toy. What are my options for bolt on replacement, maybe /5 components ?

Thanks
Paul

You can by the correct rotary style switches, both left and right (and these are not the same as a /5 in appearance) and then order a 32 72 2 072 183 adapter base to go in place of the chrome high/lo switch which will allow you to mount the rotary style switch on the standard clutch perch. The 072 183 is shown below

Hi Paul-
I've swapped switches around in the past, though never did chrome blinker to batwing blinker without a perch swap. (used parts on hand)
If keeping the original perches, I would think what you want is 32 72 2 072 175, as the right side companion to the 183 adapter on the left.

Best-
George

Well-
And now that I've had my morning tea and am waking up, I think I'm wrong on the above suggested part, that looks instead to mount a chrome blinker to a no switch perch.
I've seen very few chrome blinker switches, usually bare or batwing, and so am unfamiliar with the perch for the chrome.
So I don't know; perhaps a perch swap...?
Best-
George

I would just replace the 2 switches with original replacements
Sounds like you already have the switch bracket for the right hand switch

If you're just replacing the housing for the horn/light switch Meyer's has it for 41.48 euro.
