My R69S doesn't have one. Nothing shows at RealOEM.

Thanks for the reply, I came to the same conclusion but it just seems wrong.

Hi Paul-
I use the rubber boot at the handlebar throttle housing; figure its better protection for the cables with rubber boots at both ends.
Not all our parts sources show the handlebar end boot on their fiche, (Salis does) but they all sell it.

Somebody went to a lot of trouble to add the boot in at Salis IMO. The basic image is the same with RealOEM. But the boot that's shown at Salis has just a little difference to it. That boot is clearly used on the /5-on bikes. I wonder if someone thought to include it at Salis. Not to say that it's a bad thing to use. Even Vech's site shows that part for /5/6 bikes.

Vech told me the rubber boot never was used on the r50-r69s series
I installed one on all my bikes
Keeps rain and dust out of the throttle housing

I’ve been told it’s correct for 68/69 only.

Don't recall the boot ever being on a /2 model (the used 1969 R69US I bought in '72 didn't have it according to some old pics), and my shop days at a dealer were a few years into the /5 series. So, while I was digging to find an ISDT R68, found this from an R69US review in Cycle Magazine from June 1968. If you want to add one to your bike, it certainly can't hurt, but guessing the "originality police" might give you a speeding ticket!
