Could someone please post a picture of the front stand? I can not remember ever seeing one although I have not seen a lot of those bikes.
Thanks, Jim

Ok. I needed to figure this out and try it, so I did. See the pictures below.

Following is what I did:

1) Loosened the front stand bolt and let it hit the floor.
2) Took the motorcycle off the center stand.
3) Put my foot on the front stand and pulled it
Back. This was not totally horrible but would be much easier with a second person.
4) Pulled the motorcycle back and it went on the front stand.

I tried the “lift the front wheel” way of doing it and there is no way that’s easy.

The motorcycle is “okay” on the front stand, but I would like to have someone to hold the motorcycle as I pulled the front axle. It’s not 100% steady. I would not leave the motorcycle on that long term.

As I write this I might have tried to leave the center stand down and then pull it back (or push it) on the front stand. Not sure if that would make it easier or harder and I have already put the motorcycle away.

At least I know how to do it now.

Hi All,
the front wheel stand was not designed for supporting the bike, just for front-end maintenance, it really isn't substantial enough and neither are the shouldered bolts which hold it on, it is for use in conjunction with the centre-stand only, and this is how I do it, my Dad showed me this 40-odd years ago.
Put the bike on the centre-stand.
Get a piece of wood about 1" thick, floorboard or similar, or a bit of scaff-board.
Place it in front of or behind the feet of the stand.
Lean the bike away from you and kick the wood under the nearer foot of the stand.
Walk around the bike and repeat .
The stand can now be easily deployed.
Oil is always cheaper than metal

Good idea to boost the whole motorcycle up a bit and then you can deploy the front stand with lifting the front wheel up.
