R26 Speedometer Shift Points

Post by VintageJim »

Does anyone know what the correct speedometer blue marked shift point are for a 1956 R26? I can't find this anywhere but would be great to find a list of the blue shift marks by the BMW model number for the vintage bikes.
Thanks for any advice!
Jim

In the Knowledge Base, Library, click on R26. The first entry is an owners manual. One of the pages near the back lists maximum permissible speeds in each gear. 1st - 18; 2nd - 34; 3rd - 49, 4th - 73. I assume that is MPH.

My R26 speedo has the 1.0 ratio mark which I think is correct for a solo. It's marked in Km, the shift points are 25, 55, 80 kph.
