Pertinax Terminal Board
The black wire unsoldered itself and I can’t fix it properly. The wire comes from the back of the Pole Housing 12318002143. Any idea what it is? The number and where it attaches to?
I decided to replace the Pertinax terminal board.
I need to remove the pole housing, but I can’t find any instructions for it.
Do I need to remove everything attached on it?
There are 4 holes and 4 screws behind them, do I need to remove the screws in order to remove the pole housing?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board
to remove generator housing #7 3 m6x16 screws
This is generator housing for R26
https://www.bmwclassicmotorcycles.com/p ... ition-r26/
You need to remove the advance unit
Looks like #4 3 screws m5x16 to remove the generator housing
I will check tomorrow for the wire connections

Generator housing removal
First I took several pictures and disconnect all wires.
The I removed the voltage regulator.
Next I removed the ignition coil.
Next the centrifugal advance.
Now I have access, in my case, to 3 #5 Allen socket drives.
The drives are located at 12, 4 and 8 o’clock
Separating the housing from the block is easy.
Housing on the bench for repairs. I think this is one of the only components untouched in decades.

Other side of the generator housing
I marked the stator before removing.
It is suspended by 4 bolts.
There are wires at each end.
One was not connected, where do these wires connect to?
Placing the new board to the old I noticed the ground set screw connector is riveted to the housing.
In the new board, the ground is riveted to the same board. I will need to find one connector that I can rivet to the housing.
What is the proper name of this type of screw in connectors, and where can I find one?

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board
Only 2 wires out from the field coils
The yellow one that goes to the terminal with the blue wire is D+
So the other wire from the field coils would be the field wire and goes to F on the regulator

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board
2 options:
1st Remove old board
Use only one rivet and glue board in place
2nd best option
Remove old board
Remove ground terminal from new board
Use 2 rivets to secure new terminal board
Then use a longer screw on ignition coil next to terminal board with non insulated spade terminals for the ground wires (I dont like crimped connections and prefer to solder)
Note:
Best to insert rivet from inside because their is little clearance between the generator housing and armature
Remove ground terminal Red
Install longer screw on coil to install ground wire Green

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board
Thanks Tommy, the wires lost their color jackets over the years and both are black. Which end goes where? Any ideas?wa1nca wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 2:22 pmOk

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board
THANKS TOMMY!!
3rd option is to order a blanc terminal from Salis. And drill the holes myself. But the shipping costs make this option ridiculous.
What is the name of these type of terminals, and where can I find some?
