Discontinued Cycleworks Tool/Wristpin bushing

Post by Ziggy »

I believe this tool is no longer available. Does anyone in the forum have it who might be willing to loan it?

I bought a 12 ton Harbor Freight press to due these little jobs. But can also be used for much more. Can you take to a machine shop? Or is all still part of the engine?

I looked on ebay & there are different tools for bushings. Even one for a Harley, same thing only different ($47). Maybe why they dont make it anymore. So many alternatives for sure a small problem. :o :o

It is out of the engine, so a machine shop is a definite possibility, though wanting to do it myself.

Try contacting Richard Sheckler, of the old BMWVMCA, at-

rishelaverne@hotmail.com.

He had a lending program for the BMW special tools (that included the Cycleworks wristpin R&R tool) with the old club.
(I understand the old BMWVMCA has now melded with this club)
Best-
George

I've been told that the tools from the VMCA have been checked for this tool. Unfortunately, it isn't among the various tools.

Thanks for all the efforts. Maybe best to have a machine shop press it in after all.
