A.E.G's tank

Post by The Plunger »

Hey all,
I was looking at photos of Anke and her R69's and was wondering if you could verify the Hoske tank model on her 1956 and 1958-9 bikes. To me, it looks to be a Rennssport II (RS2). thoughts?

I realize it is an R69, my original post was plural, not R69S. Anyway, the RS II is 28 liter and the same style RS IV is 36 liter, neither with the tool box lid. I guess I'd have to see both side by side to make final judgement. I was thinking it didn't look large enough to be the 36 liter. Anyone with pics of them together?

Kurt, thanks, that's one of my go-to sites but I didn't see what I'm after. I also have a scan of a Hoske brochure but it's dated later, in the mid '60's. AEG had a '56 R69 that appears to sport the same tank that's on her '58-'59 bike. When she got the R69S she switched to a Heinrich tank. It would be cool if we knew the serial #'s!
