R27 Throttle/brake housing.

Post by arrgh »

The R27 twist throttle housing on the handlebar seems to unavailable from the usual suppliers. Does anyone have a used one that I could buy?

Salis says the part is out of stock. This might be where you might have to go used...maybe places like Uli's or S.Meyer.

I have a housing and cover and cam with chain that will work from a R50--R69s
Will need to add single boot for r27 #22

My R27 is running a perch from a twin, is it a different throttle cable?

Yes the r27 inner and outer lengths are different from a twin

Yes, it looks like the #6 housing is all I need. It is possible that the twin carb housing will work if I use the top cover piece from the R27. Apparently the depth, where the cam/chain fits, is different.

Yes the twin housing will work but needs the cam with chain and twin top cover as it is thicker to hold the twin chain
I did try the r27 cam and chain with the r27 top cover with the twin housing but they are not compatible, but it may be easier to find a twin housing setup rater than the housing for the r27

Well, I managed to find a used complete throttle assembly in Germany. I now have a spare twist grip and cam/chain if anyone needs it!! Thanks for all the responses...I really appreciate the support.
