Re: Restoration of the Magneto/ignition system
Here's a small update and (of course) a question.
I soaked all the parts, cleaned with a toothbrush and all steel parts where WD40 sprayed and wiped down.
All small fasteners/washers seen here where replaced with stainless items that I happened to have (very small metric sizes).
I recall that I bought a new capacitor and some new contact points when I first got this bike, so lucky me - I found them!
Only thing I need now in order to process is this new blue plastic magneto, new felt for those contact points and get rid of the copper horns.
I also went again through the valves setting and found out that on one side I was not very brilliant last attempt. Fixed that.
While disassemble the module, a washer fell of from somewhere and although I took it apart very carefully, this one skipped and I don't know where it should go back to. I think its some kind of a fabric material (isolation washer?) but I might ne wrong here. I think it is nr. 8 in Salis picture. I marked it with red.
Will appreciate any help here.
Thanks and a nice weekend all.
