I'd ridden the Lasertecs on bikes in high school in the 80's. Little dated and lousy on gooved pavement. The Avon Road Riders had been my go-to for older bikes for the last decade, but once you try the Conti's its an easy switch. I try not to ride in the rain but got caught in a day long downpour coming home from an Asheville trip and they were absolutely rock solid stable in the wet. Great grip and feel. Next choice for grip/handling would be the Bridgestone BTs. But since there's a terrific German option for our German bikes...
