The seat mount looks OK except someone opened up two of the holes...they should all have been the same small size. Guess they needed a bigger hole to accommodate a non OEM seat.

As far as the license plate holder, probably same thing...multiple previous owners and they needed other holes to work with different states/country plates.

Just so I understand, the front seat mount on the frame had 12- 6mm clearance holes Did the license plate frame come from the factory pre drilled or were they drilled at the dealer for the license plate?

Yes, the seat mount should have rows of the smaller holes...they didn't come with the one big hole.

As for the license plate, yours has some angles to the side wings...the one on my R69S is more or less a rectangle with the bends in the middle. My plate has three holes on either wing, all vertically aligned. My R25/2 has something more akin to what you show, but it is a flat plate...no bends in the middle. It almost looks like your plate holder might have come from Europe. Over there, they typically have pretty big license plates as compared to the US. Here's the fiche picture of what is more or less on my R69S.

Obviously things may have changed between years. Here is a pic of my '55 before I sent the frame out. Mine has 10 holes.

Thank you all for the input, I’m trying to figure out how the /2s were when they were delivered to the dealership. Now is the time for me to weld the holes that weren’t there when new . On my 65 R60, I welded all the holes in my license bracket and attached the plate with Velcro. The 1965 Florida plates were a different shape and different bolt pattern than the newer tags. Does anyone have any knowledge on the rear fender holes? Were they pre-drilled for luggage rack, Thanks again for everyone’s input, Gary

Concur with Kurt-
12 holes for seat mounting ; 6 for solo and 6 for bench; adjustment and convenience.
There were several license plate holders, as said probably for different markets.
Can't tell definitively what you got with the rear fender from your photo; they had four holes up under the bench seat, 2 forward/2 aft, for mounting choice of parcel rack/solo seat, when bench seat used these were filled with rubber plugs.
Best-
George

Kurt, Chris & George, Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it. I guess it's time to get the welder out and prep this frame for paint
