Regarding Kurt's question about the spark plug caps: Yes, they look like the originals to me, and Duane is right about leakage. Most of the owners I have known have ditched them soon after they reveal their faulty nature. I'm sure I still have a set or two in my scrounge pile, but I would never reinstall them. I suppose a concours restoration might require them.
Good to know. I'll put it on the list to think about addressing... while keeping the originals of course!

Cool bike and great pics. I really like all the aftermarket kit.
Small detail - but I don't think the foot pegs were plated originally either. Looks cool though! Kinda wish mine were now.
Thank you!

Since y'all mentioned the secondary storage compartment under the seat there, I popped it open last night and here's what I found:

Not one but two replacement bulbs, plus a patch kit.

And then what looks to be a complete tool kit in the tank?

Both put a big smile on my face.

Nice...looks like a decent and accurate BMW tool kit. Looks like one of the tubular wrenches is missing...that's the big round thing with the hole in the side. I see an extra box-end wrench but generally looks good.

Fast. Neat. Average. Friendly. Good. Good.

The grips are interesting, and not familiar to me. I think they are definitely aftermarket.

Grips are identical to those on my monoshock 1992 R100RS. I thought they were original to the bike, not positive

Well that's fascinating. I've just ordered Hella bar-end signals and all the accoutrement, so these grips will be going away, replaced by a new pair of open-end grips from Vech.

I'll see if there's any markings on 'em when they come off.
