Brake lining inspection

Post by hooverbj »

I've had my 1966 R50/2 for 3 riding seasons. My front brake is adequate with lots of advance notice when stopping. I'm wondering if there is a way to view the lining on the brakes without removing the whole wheel? I don't see any inspection holes or windows?
Thanks in advance,

I agree, there doesn't seem to be any way to inspect without removal...I just took a look. That would have to be done on the rider's left side, but there's that big disk that closes out that side. There seems to be some holes in the hub on my /7 but I can't see them all that well...they could be just drain holes if any water gets in there.
