Mechanics...

Post by skyler.robbins »

Hey Skyler, notice the bike in the background has Oregon, special interest plates. Are you and the mechanic in Oregon? Just asking because I’m in Bend and don’t know anyone for heavy motor work in Central Oregon.

I live in Portland..
I took my bike to Kevin Brooks in Olympia cause after purchasing tools and such for a slinger clean, it seemed better to just have him do it right the first time.
Little did I know I was going to have all these other issues... but he's top notch.

But as far as Portland goes, there's Derek Cheshire here in Portland and Steve Prokop in Dundee.
I think there's a couple guys in Eugene, but don't personally know them.

Good luck though..
We ride out that way a couple times a year.. I'll contact you when we head out there again!

Thanks Skyler. I don’t have

Thanks Skyler. I don’t have a need for engine work now but good to know for the future. Give me a heads up if you come over. We can grab a beer if Nanny Kate (governor) will permit.

Finished...

Post by skyler.robbins »

Hey Gang,
Just wanted to finish up the engine/slinger rebuild thread.
I got my bike back yesterday from Kevin.
I'm very glad to have had him do the work and set an extra set of eyes on everything.
I had him do some extra work while it's at his shop.
Nre rear tire/tube.
New rear hub seal along with pack bearings and clean everything up back there.
Same for the front hub.
Some other smaller misc stuff too..

Overall the bike sounds/feels great!
I just did a quick 10 mile ride before it started pouring rain here.
Here's a photo of the aftermath..

You could make a collage out

You could make a collage out of that stuff! Put the slingers up on the wall to show what they look like when "used up"!
