R51/3 - Best place to find mufflers?

Post by Micha »

When the budget is low, I know there is someone in Poland who produces replicas and of course there are the guys in China who make for the local market.

Would love to hear from experience how are the Polish guy's products? And does he really make it or buy them from China?
Does he have a website? Shop? WhatsApp?

And how is the chinese product?

I am looking for the black ones and ask mainly for their silencing skills (and they do need to be a direct fit, of course).
Prefer ones that sound like the originals and don't wake the deads.

Are there any other (cheap) options?

Thank you and take care all. Stay well.

Mac Performance.com $300 for some mufflers.
I bought there replacement mufflers for my 69S 3yrs ago. Its not stock but I don't like the "cigar" looking ones like everyone but my brother has on their bike.
I like it, not loud & cost was right & looks good.
So there ya go.

These mufflers are made by DRP as stamped on the muffler. There is a DRP that makes a lot of motorcycle mufflers from Italy.
Maybe do some research on that name. The vat at 23% isn't that the tax? WOW. These mufflers aren't chrome but where they on the bike new?

DRP is not a producer. It simply means D(eutsches) R(eichs) P(atent). Means, Patent of the German Reich. Guess, to make the repro mufflers look like the original prewar mufflers.

OK, my bad. There is a DRP company that makes mufflers & exhaust systems from Italy. Thought they were the same thing only different.

you're right, there is a company (I think in Italy) which makes exhaust systems ... I think mostly for 2stroke bikes. The letters are not seperated by dots, though.
