R51/3: Speedometer Driving Worm & Bush

Post by Micha »

Hello, I am trying to install them into place in the gearbox shell with no success. I cannot figure out what am I doing wrong. Honestly, this is driving me crazy.
As can be seen in the pictures, there's a groove at the inner side of the bush that is preventing the worm sliding inside to its place. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures from the disassembly process.
Please your help.
I would also be happy to hear your opinion about the condition of the drive gear/worm: It is worn alright, but can I re-use it or should I replace it? It is a pricey part...
Thank you.
