Plunger shift throws

Post by The Plunger »

Well, the weather has improved so I bolted on my new carbs on the R67/2, tuned her up and took her for a spin around the block a few times. All went well enough but I couldn’t help but wonder about the effort(distance) it took to shift. This is my first plunger and it’s not even close to how easy it was to shift my R69. Is it normal? I almost have to lift my foot up off the peg to engage it!

It doesn't appear to be bent,

It doesn't appear to be bent, and with the flat spot for the wedge bolt it can't be adjusted. I went out to take a pic and...doh!, I see my peg is low! Never mind.

It seems normal to me as I have experienced with my first plunger but it rides smoothly without any problem.

I also have a new to me plunger......it shifts very different (slow) than any of the /2's or /5's I have owned.
