Kickstand for BMW R60US

Hello! I am the proud owner of a 1965 BMW R60/2 which at some point has been converted into a "R60US" w/ telescopic fork by a previous owner. My problem is that the kickstand is just plain too short (the angle of the bike when on the kick stand is precariously low) for the bike since the front is higher with the telescopic fork than it was originally with the Earles fork. Is there anything on the market that I can use? Appreciate any feedback on this. Br, Ramburger (Oslo, Norway)

I have some side stand experience as I have had the opposite situation. I'm shorter than average and have lowered several bikes to fit me better. In your case what I would do is lengthen the side stand to fit your bike. Side stands are not hard to find or valuable so I would have a short piece added to your side stand. The side stands I have modified you can not tell they have been worked on. It takes an estimate as to what you need to add or in my case remove, but the one's I've done have worked great. Another option is I have seen and own a side stand for my R80G/S that is adjustable. At the bottom, where the pad rests on the pavement theres a threaded section that can be lengthened or shortened. My R60/2 came with a period correct Flanders side stand when I bought it. It is the original black one that attaches to the rear frame. I initially planned to remove it and install a stock stand. However, after using it I really like it compared to the stock stand. It is easy to reach and it is long enough to support the bike in a very stable way. You can find old ones like mine or newer stainless types.

My problem with the Flanders stand is that it holds the bike on a quite steep angle. I lost my original stand years ago after it broke. I would love to find one. The problem with the original, was it would drill into warm asphalt and cause the bike to fall over!

Yeah, that actually happened to me last year, except it was on the main central stand when it happened

My bike fell over my friend's F800R and cracked the radiator housing. Obviously, that would never have happened if he had been wise enough to get himself an air cooled version

I'll look into those Flanders stands, thanks for the tip!

In my case, the Flanders stand gives me a perfect angle when in use. It could just be that it is in good condition and not worn or bent. In any case, I would not want it to be more upright or it would have the same issues as a stock stand.

I have a Browns side-stand that, depending on how you position the front wheel when parked gives the bike (r60/2 US) plenty of safe angle as opposed to the original BMW stand. The Browns is longer and has a better angle. I have kick-started the bike on the side stand though not made a habit about it. A very nice upgrade (as far as I'm concerned) accessory for a /2 if you ride your bike.
Might lose points if you only show it.
Bolt-on/bolt-off.

I took these around midnight last night on my garage so was kinda close to the bike.
