In the market: Fully Restored 1955 to 1959 R60 to marry with BMW TR500 Spezial sidecar

Post by origincoffee »

Hello all. I am in the market for a fully restored 1955/6 to 1959 R60 (not /2), black, of course, to marry with a BMW TR500 Spezial sidecar I am restoring. The cleaner and more original parts the better, and concours quality would be well compensated for. Sidecar gearing and Eber taillight a plus but not a deal breaker. If you have a line on one please let me know! No international offers please.

TR500 Spezial

Post by amesser »

Well, Steve,
I unfortunately can't be of much help with a R60, but as a fellow restorer of a TR500 sidecar to join my R67/3: do you have photos of your TR500 so I could study the details? Also I'm interested in whether you have an braked sidecar wheel.
Thanks!
Tony

I know that I am not helping

I know that I am not helping your search for a proper motorcycle, but I have the opposite problem. I have a bike that we recently separated from a nice TR500 side car and we need to sell the side car. Can either of you suggest a good place to research the value and ultimately advertise it?

Thanks,

Doc

Here is my 1955 TR500 Spezial. It has never been separated from the R50.

Hi Doc. Did you ever sell your TR500?

Steve,
Are you sure you wouldn't rather have a beautiful '52 R67/2 with a Hoske tank to haul that? I'm seriously considering selling mine.:-)

Doc's post was from nearly 2 years ago. I imagine it's long since sold, but he may be along to confirm.
