See...that's why this doesn't appear in the original BMW parts list!

It only needed a little persuasion. Seriously if you look on the web for R26 and R27 pictures of the left side (muffler) you will notice several have the dust cover, you wont be able to see the screws holding the hubs.

Light bucket and unlined parts.

Light bucket and unlined parts.

The headlight bucket, taillight housing and tool box lid. Each has three coats clear.

After more wet sanding (after drying for a few days), I will spray three coats of clear on the tank and fenders.

This is a picture of typical overspray spots of white paint. I will be removing spots today from gas tank and fenders. It is too humid today to clear coat them but they will be ready when a hot dry day comes along.

All overspray removed with 600 wet/dry. All surfaces scuffed and smooth. Ready for clear coat when atmospheric conditions are correct.

Humidity has been high so, no painting. The forecast predicts humidity under 50%. I plan to spray the clear on tomorrow.

This is the “fit up” of the hinged back flap and the new stainless steel hardware / domed nut. Notice sintered bronze bushing modified for this purpose.
Perhaps my friend Dave can turn something nicer from stainless?
Maybe domed nuts for the studs, too? (Note the rubber backed washers to protect the paint.)
