I have a Yuasa in my R69S...bought it at the local HonYamKawSuzi dealer...they had to order it. It's a slosh battery, fill holes on top. I've been having serious trouble keeping the terminals from corroding...I've tried just about everything. I think most suggest going to a sealed battery which I will at some point. Of course, Vech sells batteries.

On my R25/2, I had a sealed battery but it failed on my while on the road. Vech says that he used to suggest sealed batteries for the singles but because of the vibration, he doesn't do that anymore. So, I bought a slosh battery. For some reason, I'm getting a lot of liquid out the top...not sure why but maybe because of the vibration. I've checked the charging voltage and it's only about 7v, so it is not too high. Not what to do on that one.

Thanks that is some great advice. I have seen several types of sealed batteries out there on the market. IS CCA (cold cranking amps) a huge factor like it is in an automobile? Since it is a kick start only I would not think so.

No, CCA is not an issue with the magneto ignition bikes. The battery is strictly a reservoir to run the lights when you are at idle and the generator is not putting out enough "juice". In fact, you can run these bikes without a battery...not so on a battery-ignition bike.

I like the sealed gell 6V that Vech sells. Cheap, dependable, black, nothing to leak. A little thinner than the original so I cut a 3/4 inch wooden shim to place behind it and painted it (the shim) black . I kept the first one I had on a 6V battery tender and it died prematurely. I called Benchmark and they told me NOT to keep it on a tender. Sent me a replacement for postage cost. Second one has worked fine for several years off the tender.
