Where to buy 'How to restore your BMW Motorcycle Twins 1950-1969'?

Post by CGinVA »

Looking to buy the book 'How to Restore your BMW Motorcycle Twins 1950-1969'. It's on Amazon for over $100. Is that what they currently sell for?

I bought mine off Amazon - choosing from among the offers a book that was a good combination of quality and price, as this book is no longer in print (that I am aware of) and you can only purchase a used one.

This is a great book. It's not a technical how-to book in my opinion - more of an archive of model nuances in incredible detail. It's a must-have. If you want more of an actual in-the-shop restoration guide, check out the Barrington books.

Try getting it from a second hand book shop

Try getting it from a second hand book shop that does not know the value.

Google the title and author and see where it pops up - even on page 15 of your search! Click on images, which will give some leads as well.

Got mine like that all the way from the Australia at 1/3 of the Amazon price.

Thanks for that input. I have the latest Barrington book, but it leaves quite a bit unanswered.

I just did another quick search and found it on Barnes and Noble for $98.92, with shipping and tax. I don't think I will find it cheaper, so I placed the order.

The B&N price is probably as good as you are likely to find. Prices for that book have really gone up in the last couple of years.

eBay is worth watching...

There is one listed now that has not yet crossed the hundred-dollar mark:

There is also one listed for $450. I would let that one go!
