Any one know where to obtain the three rubber bumper inserts that install into the holes in the /2 rear rack as seen in the photo above from the 2013 Quail Gathering in Carmel CA this last month?

Thanks

My rack holes are empty...doesn't really bother me...the parts system doesn't even show anything through those holes. I suspect that any of the big box home improvement stores will have something in the hardware aisle that will work. They have a surprising amount of small, rubber buttons.

Maybe this part would work - 61 71 5 096 154 - it's to use on the fender to plug the holes when the rack is not installed.

I think those are the same as the ones that were used to plug the holes in the rear fender, where racks and pillions are attached. I haven't seen a source for those in a long time. Kurt's right, a good hardware store should have something that will work.

But will it be Quail

...I dont think there ever were plugs in those fender rack holes when the bikes came from the factory...if your really a compulsive type, their presence should maybe even deduct from the evaluation of the restoration....as for the plugs in the rear fender accessory holes, the originals after about 1957 or so are black rubber plugs, stamped KJ and some four digit number. The current replacements are smooth black rubber...from 1955 to 1957, a 6mm round head chromed machine screw was used and before that and back into the 1930s a phosphated 6mm machine screw....some real trivia here...
