Fresh Paint

Post by Wayne J in MA »

In my long slow refresh of my R69S, I see the results of my pinstriper’s work on my recently painted bodywork.

Looks great. Buco saddlebags? Wondering if you have them wired for turn signals. I have them and would like the extra safety if that can be done. Put an inquiry on the forum, but no replies.

They are new reproduction bags from Danny Vu. I think I got the last set of black from him before he stopped making them.
They have dual lights on each but I still have far too much to do before I tackle them. I will try to do the same with them, rear signals and extra brake lights, probably with less.

The Buco lid striping is a nice addition to stock fenders and tank pinstriping.

Thanks, the lid pinstripe was the suggestion of my pinstriper. I wanted something to break up the solid black and he convinced me that lines on the sides didn’t match the lines of the bike.

Nice paint and pinstripes.
I'm in need of same on my R69s. did you have it done locally?
I'm in NY.
Also, Did you re-chrome the saddlebag fasteners and rivet them back on yourself?

Paint was done by Stone’s in Northboro MA. His current painter is the painter for a Ferrari restorer.
The pinstriper is located in Amesbury, MA. I will see him tomorrow and ask if it is alright to give out his name and number.
The bags are new reproductions from Danny Vu so all the hardware is brand new. Unfortunately he no longer makes them. He may still have hardware though. You can find him on eBay I think as seller named bluemoonscooter.
