Maybe Max BMW has left over stock? Motoren Israel sells one.

The easy clutch was designed for use on primarily the /6 bikes. They had the most difficult clutch pull, particularly the R90S. Back in the '70s, when my R90S was new, and I rode it everyday, it would break the clutch cable about once a year. Riding the thing in city traffic would make your left hand ache. The easy clutch solved that problem. The pre 1970's BMW's really do not need them, and I did not recommend their use, on a pre 1970 bike.

I supplied Motoren Israel with easy clutches when I owned Bench Mark Works.
MAX bmw may still have them in stock, I do not know for sure.

A gentleman known as Twin Headlight Ernie on the ADV website is producing a similar item if interested. I installed one on my R90/6 and have since purchased another for my R75/5 I was so pleased with the results. Many, many posts of thanks andd praise on the ADV website for the product. He charges $85 and can be reached at dakotabeemer@hotmail.com if interested.

Alternatively, if you find the clutch on a BMW too heavy, simply ride a Norton for six months, then go back to the BMW, you will find that the clutch now feels incredibly light, works every time for me!

After trying one of Ernie's clutch pulleys on a /6. I was amazed.

I had an Easy Clutch installed for years on my R60/2..worked like a charm until one ride on a beautiful curvy river road...and the ferrule came loose. Fell off the cable and wandered off into the weeds.

So no clutch. I had a small locking plier so I clamped it to the end of the clutch cable to hold it in place and slowly rode straight home.

With Ernie's design, no need to cut the cable or deal with three tiny set screws'

I now install between 1-4 of the clutch pulleys a month on any bike with a heavy clutch. That's after I make sure it's not hard because of a worn-out clutch cable.

After his first ride on his R90S, the rider told me it now shifted like his Honda. Two-finger clutch action. That's been the consistent response..

I received one of Ernie's clutch pulleys yesterday. Installed this morning in about 15 minutes. 5 minutes to arrange the clutch cable over the pulley and attach the ferule holder onto the transmission bolt, and 10 minutes to screw the little nuts to where they needed for proper adjustment. Amazingly easy clutch pull. A bit more sensitive to adjustment, but what an improvement. If something was to fail on the road, it would be easy to revert back to stock cable pulling on the arm.

Please post some pictures..

How it works?? mine R60/2 has a soft and easy to handle clutch, but could be a good improvement for my R51/3.

Regards

Rodolfo
