1935 R12 Cylinder Head Torque Value?

Post by Fendrick »

Team,

I searched high and low and could not find the torque spec...apologies if I missed this this.

Replacing the head gasket on a 1935 R12 and looking for the torque specs and any advice / warnings.

Thank you in advance!

Michael

Welcome to the forum! Try looking through some of the R12 documents in the library. Click on Knowledge Base, then Library. Select the R12 in the model window.

I don't think there are official torque values for the heads.
Here are some "official' specs, no mention of head torque values. On mine I tightened them in cross pattern by feel, not too tight keeping in mind the heads are alloy, and there are many nuts. They can't be reached with a torque wrench anyway. Wolfgang Reichenberger has good head gaskets, no leaks so far.
