Mechanic's marks

Hello, I'm working on a 1947 R35 and I've come across lots of small stamps, a BMW roundel and a 3-figure no, such as 417, 446 etc. These would seem to indicate that a certain mechanic has worked on that part. Has anyone come across any similar? Andreas Harz of BMW Archive hasn't seen them before.
