Cylinder
It was bored to a bigger diameter (75mm) instead of 73mm standard diameter. We did that in order to recover this old and original cylinder and we will use a modern VW engine piston with Goetze rings. The main advantages are that the cylinder have an old material which is becoming better with the time and the modern piston and rings have better materials and low friction technology compared to the old ones or some shady aftermarket parts that I have seen on internet.
