R35

Post by wa1nca »

Nice start
The best part is putting it back together and then to enjoy all the hard work as you ride it
Always brings a smile on you face on each and every ride

This is the crankshaft, it

Post by luca.stere »

This is the crankshaft, it has some play and as you can see in the videos the pin piston bush has also some play in the inner (0.10mm) and also for the outside diameter. I will check also the crankshaft with some measuring tools:

BMW R35 doesn't have

Post by luca.stere »

BMW R35 doesn't have slingers, in the front the crank has a bronze bearing and receive the oil pressure thru that part like the modern engines does. It is a sort of mixt lubrication on the crank, the rear ball bearing 6207 is lubricated by splash oil and the bronze bearing and conrod bearing are lubricated by oil pressure.

The cylinder is an after war

Post by luca.stere »

The cylinder is an after war one, produced after 1945 and we will use another one produced before the war. This one is in a good shape, has all the fins and the diameter is 72mm.
