BMW R51 TDC

Hello,

does anyone have an easy methode how to determine TDC for a R51 or a R5 (engine case without the hole and TDC mark on the flywheels).

I think an easy way would be to pull the valve covers off and spark plugs out. Put the trans. in gear. As you turn the engine over slowly watch for both rocker arms to be come loose. Also with finger over plug hole you should feel the compression blowing your finger. That should be TDC compression stroke. You may need to turn the engine over couple times to get the feel of whats going on. May also need front cover off to do some marking for next time.

Just take flashlight and take spark plag off and then you can see the piston.
