Bosch JN7 Rucklicht Lense

Post by spider rust »

This is a very interesting lense, which I recently acquired, it appears to be original, the material is not a modern plastic but more like the cellulose plastic used during WW2, even the casting shape shows irregularities like the originals.
And most importantly the Bosch Trade Mark shows the early Armature.
Unfortunately the seller had caused considerable damage to the casting definition in order to fit it to his new case,
I managed to refinish and clean up some of this work.
I have inc an image of an original for comparison.
The devil is always in the detail, if you see it?
Also the genuine lenses were slightly shorter in height compared to the copies, this lense looks identical.

Rucklicht Lense

You could be right it maybe a copy, but who ever made it could be sued for copyright infringement, unless they have permission from Bosch. This is the only decent copy I have found, but on closer scrutiny the early Bosch Armature was wider than the later version,
this lense is close but not identical. However during the war Bosch used production facilities in some occupied countries
so variation is possible.
