WW-II war stamps

Post by deyoung2837 »

Hello all,

I just acquired a R12 manufactured on February 20th, 1940 and delivered on February 21st, 1940 to the Luftzeuggruppe XI in Hannover.

Does anyone have pictures of the engine Luftwaffe stamp and any of the other stamps from the war?

Thanky you,

Lee

Engine stamps

Post by spider rust »

The engine would be stamped into the W with the Waffenampt stamp, for military use, only the number plate would carry the Luft stamp unique to that service only. So if you want to re create a faithful restoration, you need to find that stamp for your plates.
Simple!

Graf Spee...

Post by R68 »

Who currently has the R5 that was unloaded from Graf Spee just before it left Montevideo? I just learned that besides WH, the overused SS plates, and WL plates there was also a rare WM plate for the navy vehicles. That R5 should get a WM plate, I think...:)
