BMW R71

Post by Luigi bmwR68 »

Goodmorning everyone
this is BMW R71 produced on April 1941,
same motor and frame numbers, one of the last 15 bikes produced, probably the last with lateral valves still existing.
The R71 is a beautiful bike and very fun to drive, unfortunately underestimated from a collecting point of view, because of all the Russian copies produced...
This BMW, strangely, was sold in Italy (Bolzano) during the early war years, instead of being enlisted in the army. It was used with the sidecar for freight. Then he moved to Milan and is now in my collection.
Does anyone know other BMW produced during the last period of 1941?

Nice restoration Luigi. Well done.
It is interesting that the frame and engine numbers are the same. I thought this only occurred after the war .

Nice bike Luigi. I used to own 703166 . Matching numbers as well. All authentic. Came out of Norway and had an original sidecar attached
