liquid gasket

I think this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread. Any preference on a liquid gasket for the engine case?

Also, Does anyone use anything on the paper gaskets (i.e. cylinders) and head gaskets?

I used Hylomar HPF gasket dressing. Worked great on all I used it on. Not sure about head gasket. Dont think I did, what ever book called for.
No leaks that was the best part. I used on some of the bolt threads that went threw into oil gallery.
